We popped our ball! But that is okay because the awesome people at Kettering University had a spare for us. : )
We have made tremendous progress in the past week. We have programmed our practice robot with new Java code so that it can move. This year, we are using a CAN system, which will make programming much easier.
We have prototyped and tested our arms. Now, we know what kind of wheels we want to use, the spacing between wheels, and the distance apart we want to build them. We will start CADing tomorrow! That means that the students will design the robot with a computer so that the measurements are perfect, which will make it easier for the mechanical team to build.
The team is doing an excellent job staying on task and being productive! The hours fly by and we are getting a lot done. So far, we are off to a great start and we are having a lot of fun in the process. See you next week!
